You can't just look at the data in the maps. When you flash the ECU it also removes the speed governor that's fuel and ignition based. You can't see this in the image since it happens in the background.

Also to point out, don't assume FTE is infallible. Their 3/4 system image is garbage, very lean and put together horribly. They also put the 6th gear ignition map in all the gear ignition maps in the unrestricted image. Yet it's been shown retarding the ignition in fact helps create more power. So you're better off using the stock ignition map from 1-5 gears in 6th, or change the gear map to point to the 1st gear map only. Either way works.

And yes, I'm new to it, about 2.5 years now and I do experiment within safe limits. If we just do the same as others we gain nothing. My experimenting has led to several software bug fixes so far because I've asked questions. Tad158 has been doing this far longer and when I've asked him about a few things his knowledge becomes limited to only his image. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it shows that more years don't exactly equal more/broader knowledge.
